Chef Luke Deardurff is a pastry chef in New York City where he is known for his innovative desserts that connect seasonal, local produce with flavors and inspirations from around the world. Luke began his culinary path after a couple years of art school where he studied Jewelry and Sculpture. His passion for art, combined with childhood memories centered around the dinner table, and home grown food and vegetables, led him to using pastry as an art form. Luke’s intense connection to plants and animals has led him to not only strive to build close relationships with local farmers and foragers, but to also build his own edible landscapes wherever possible, be it at home, or at the restaurants he works at. He views the plants and food we eat as not only sustenance, but as medicine and magic, and hopes that by sitting at his table old memories can be relived, and new memories may be formed.
